When purchasing a portable DVD player, weight is a major consideration. If you plan to carry it around a lot, don’t let slick designs fool you. Choose a lighter, slimmer model, 2.5 pounds or less. If you only intend to use it at home, weight isn’t an issue. Last year, Apex DVD players were second in sales only to Sony’s, and while Sony is a well-known and trusted brand, Apex deliver bargain prices. The HD DVD player hasn’t caught on well in the US, as Blockbuster opted for the rival Blu-ray format. However, things may change in the near future with special sales of the Xbox 360 game console.
